Single + MV: Tiger Anson Hu sings ending song 戀人歌歌 (Lover's Song) in Swords of Legend

October 12th, 2014 (Release date: June 28th, 2014) - Tiger Hu | Anson Hu | Hu Yanbin sings the ending song for the popular ancient Chinese drama "古劍奇譚 Swords of Legend." Song is released in Swords of Legend OST along with 5 other tracks.

The MV doesn't feature Hu at all, but instead shows clips of drama in the last and second last episodes of the drama (go figure). The MV was released 2 days before the grand finale, spoiling the ending to the audience beforehand. Despite that, the song matches the finale of the drama quite well: The mood of this song fits perfectly well with the tragic ending. What do you think?

I really like this song !!
His voice is so nice and also the lyric.
Good job Anson !! :)

I LOVE this song! I never watched or knew about this drama series but I really don't care, I just want to see Hu yanbin singing it. Any live performance of this song anywhere??

@Lingasaurus Wang Thanks for your comment! Hu has sang this song in various mini-concerts; however, there are only fan cameras and no official clips available.
Here are two clips: http://v.youku.com/v_show/id_XNzkxMzMxNjg4.html
and http://v.youku.com/v_show/id_XODA4MzYzNjg4.html
Let me know if it helps!

Yay! Thanks for the link. I really like seeing him performing live. Damn this guy is too good. I love how he is so versatile. I read your about me post and agree with you 100%. My mandarin is so so, and I have to see the lyrics for me to understand the meaning and I just think at such a young age to write these songs are no mean feat. Chinese is difficult!lol. I've heard him sing other people's song and I actually prefer his version than the original. His voice is so soothing and has this velvety quality that is quite unique.

@Lingasaurus Wang: You're very welcome. I devote a little bit of my time to spreading news about him in English. I'm always active when he's active and quiet when he's quiet! I always love to hear from people who are also music lovers! What other singers do you like? Make sure you check out the other tv shows he's on, like 2013 Celebrity battle and legend of songs. You can find that under the Video tab. I have full coverage of that just because its recent :)

Tiger is definitely versatile. His recorded songs and live singing are both really enjoyable, and it shows off his voice in different ways. His voice has changed so much over the years. You can tell if you listen to his albums! His peak voice I would say was around 2007. After that he got his vocal chords severely infected that he almost needed an operation. After that, his vocal chords aren't as good as before. Besides, he's too stressed most of the time, he doesn't take care of his vocal chords! All his fans grow with him, so we never stop loving him, no matter what he is.

Sounds like you really his traditional-styled songs like lover's song, and the moonlight right? How about Rain of love, and farewell song??

So funny, I've been chatting to my younger brother and it turns out he's been a fan of Tiger for years and laughed at me for only just discovering him..hahahaha..where have I been??!:P. I haven't really been listening to Chinese music for years. I have to be in the mood. I like all genres of music and love soul music. During my clubbing days, it was hip hop and RnB. I don't idol worship, if it sounds good then Yep, you're on my playlist. If you look in my music folder, there is mandarin, Vietnamese and English songs. From, hiphop, rock to old folks songs. So my musical taste is universal. I even like to listen to songs in a foreign language that I don't even understand.
There are people who have that certain quality that I really admire. For instance, during the nineties, my favourite song writers were, la babyface and Teddy Riley, however, I didn't particularly liked their singing voices. Currently, I feel that jesse J has one of the best vocals around. I went to see her live and she was amazing. Ed Sheeran is another wicked songwriter.
The difference with Hu yanbin is his ability to adapt his style of singing to accommodate or convey the emotion of the song. He makes it his own. This makes it refreshing and I don't feel you can get bored of it because you never quite know what to expect. I am in awe with his ability to produce and sing in traditional form, rap, jazz, Rnb and whatever genre I've not mentioned. That is just pure talent! Yes, I love traditional song but it's the modern fusion with which Hu yanbin brings to it that gives it this whole new flavour. His voice is just so beautiful. I disliked Cantonese songs in the last decade because they all fell into the same category...boring!! I named it suicidal songs.lol The lyrics were awful and it was always about 失恋.
There's also that passion you can feel and hear it with every word he sings, not to mention his lyrics...wow...just wow. I mean my Chinese is pretty rusty but even I know to write like that requires a high level of academic. My brother is going to China in March so I told him to buy me every single one of his album for me. I can't get them here in the UK so I want to show my support:D
Something else that's funny, my elder brother's wife who is from China told me that she mentioned to my brother almost 10 years ago that she thought Hu yanbin looks abit like him.lol. My brother is 47 yrs old.

My brother mentioned that Hu yanbin had trouble with his throat. Did he had to have an operation? Whilst listening to his earlier music and comparing it to his more current work, I assumed it was just a natural transition to a more mature sound. He was so cute and energetic and you can hear his voice was so sweet and young. He's obviously more mature now and seems much more serious. He does seem like as though he is always deep in thought, a thinker. Hey, how many of us can stay young and free as we get older aye. I wish I was still young and free with no responsibilities:P. He's looking good though. Like the suits. Saw it on facebook where he was at the Redbull launch of his new App. Looking sharp, nice. I need to brush up on my mandarin because I can't follow what he is saying unless there is chinese subtitles. So sad. I should have paid more attention when I attended sunday chinese school.@_@

Hi Ling, thanks for your lengthy response! I always have fun reading what you have to say!

You are exactly like me, or maybe I should say, I am like you! We don't worship people, we just listen to whoever that does their music the way we like it! Cantonese music was perhaps what I gave up first! *high five*

Hahahaha, that's such an interesting coincidence with your brother who knew all about Tiger. I am so glad that he's able to buy Tiger's albums for you! YAY!

Tiger's voice is both a natural transition and had trouble. I didn't end up getting an operation NOR had enough time to rest. The doctor said he needed 2 months off from singing. He was in the midst of one of his 2007 competitions, so he wasn't going to stop. He probably just stopped talking for 2 days and that was it..... Definitely after that infection, his voice is much more scratchier and his voice became thinner. In a way, his voice became more masculine? What do you think?

I think that if you listen to more interviews, tv shows, or listen to Tiger talk (haha), you can probably understand more! I learned a lot of mandarin from Tiger. Believe it or not, I used to only understand Cantonese, I learned it from Tiger!

Was wondering, you follow Tiger's facebook page too? Did you find this page first, or did you find facebook first? Make sure you follow Facebook! It Can you tell that I am the Admin for this blog, facebook, and also twitter? (I just wanted to figure out what my reach for his fans lies...thanks!)

From the way you talk, I think you're someone with great personality too! I am so glad to have met you and you're so kind! :)

Hey Denise, I've emailed you so check out the photos and let me know what you think;)
I found this website first before I followed the facebook page. You are one busy lady!!
There really isn't much info out there in english regarding Tiger. I suppose he's never been marketed outside of Asia, which I think is a travesty!! He is up there if not more with the likes of Jay chou and Wang Leehom. I've heard a few of their songs and although I know they are extremely talented, their voices are not that special (in my humble opinion).
I can definitely hear his voice is more raspy than before. I just thought it was another technique he's perfected:p. It sounds masculinely soft. It's just blimmin brilliant!!lol
My family predominately speaks Cantonese as well but growing up we listened to Teresa Teng and other 70s/80s Mandarin song so we picked up the lingo from there. I can understand it but I have to concentrate really hard while I'm listening, hence it is more easier if there are Chinese subtitles so I don't have to strain my brain.lol:P:P.
Sounds like we're kindred spirits *high five*:D I really admire you for taking the time to make a website dedicated to inform others whom share the same interest. I bet we would have a great laugh if we ever have a chance to get together. I'm very vocal as you can tell:P.
I would love to go and see him live one day (before I get too old). My younger brother and I had a conversation last night about Tiger's music and even he said if he had the opportunity he would go to his concert too. My brother is excellent in Chinese so he can read all the available news source and tell me about it..kekeke. Apparently, Tiger is extremely well known in China and Taiwan. He is recognised as a major musical genius and an entrepreneur. It's great to hear that.

Oh, forgot to mention, I don't do twitter, I'm not that socially active. I'm reaching that age where having a social life is all but a distant memory *sigh*.lol. I like checking my facebook feed for entertainment value, however, I don't post much myself. Speaking of which, is there something equivalent to that in China I wonder?
