This is Chinese-styled theme/sub song that Anson especially wrote for the ancient China series called '

In this song, the Chinese phrase '江湖再見' refers to the commitment, ties and a 'world' between lovers that was once shared but now are broken, so they bid each other farewell. This song could be translated to 'Farewell Love Story,' or 'Farewell My Lover,' in a western context.

With much debate, I have finally settled down to using one word as a title of this song, 'Farewell.' The lyrics suggests more than a simple modern love story: it uses ancient Chinese terminology and symbolic objects to illustrate a broken Chinese love story.

( Where the lights are dim, and the ink is still not dry, )
*Note: "ink is not dry" means that fresh new promise has been made, but it hasn't been long before the the promise has been broken.
dēng huǒ lán shān mò jī hái wèi gān

( a container of strong liquor light up my memories of you )
liè jiǔ yī zhǎn bǎ sī niàn diǎn rán

( Borrowed your sword, don't know when to return it, )
jiè nǐ de jiàn bù zhī hé shí huán

( owe you a favour, but don't know how to return it )
qiàn nǐ de qíng bù zhī gāi zěn me huán

*Chrous
( If we had fate in our past lives, )
qián shì ruò zhēn de yǒu yuán

( why would I make things difficult? )
yòu hé bì ràng nǐ wéi nán

( If we are destined to miss our fate this life, )
cǐ shēng ruò zhù dìng wú yuán

( why would you make me feel sad? )
yòu hé kǔ ràng wǒ xīn suān

( I traveled across numerous mountains and rivers, )
wǒ zǒu guò qiān shān wàn shuǐ

( just to see you once again )
zhǐ xiǎng zài jiàn nǐ yī miàn

( The blooming season of the Gardenia flower, )
zhī zi huā kāi de shí jié

( let us say farewell )
ràng wǒ men jiāng hú zài jiàn

( Snowfall for consecutive days, singing Bodhisattva poetry, )
Note: Bodhisattva poetry refers to a special type of Chinese poetry that is sung to a particular tune.
fēi xuě lián tiān xiào chàng pú sà mán

( even the swift sword cannot cut through bonds )
qīng fēng zhǎng jiàn zhǎn bù duàn qiān bàn

( Borrowed your horse, don't know when to return it, )
jiè nǐ de mǎ bù zhī hé shí huán

( owe you a favour, I will use a lifetime to repay you )
qiàn nǐ de qíng wǒ yòng yī shēng lái huán
