MV: Tiger Anson Hu stars and directs his first 2014 MV - 姑娘 (My Girl)

October 3rd, 2014 (Release date: August 27, 2014) - Tiger Hu | Anson Hu | Hu Yanbin stars and directs his first MV of 2014, 姑娘 (My Girl). The single was released in his 2014 EP 太歌 春 (Tiger, Spring) in early Spring of this year.

The MV illustrates the essence of the song very well. The natural glasslands scenery is paired with a folk song style, showing Hu's dream girl as he re-revisits his old home in the rural areas. Of course, the area has now developed with windmills and is no longer the same, but memories of "the girl" are still there.

Single + MV: Tiger Anson Hu - 保衛地球 | bǎo wèi dì qiú | Protect The Earth

April 4th, 2013 (Event date: Jan 25th, 2013) - Anson Hu | Tiger Hu | Hu Yanbin attends the premiere of China's animated series [ Pleasant Goat and Big Big Wolf 5 喜羊羊與灰太狼 5" ]. He was especially invited to sing the theme song 《 保衛地球 | bǎo wèi dì qiú (Protect The Earth) 》 for the animated series. The series will start airing on the 24th of January.

Sharing photos taken of Anson at the premiere of Pleasant Goat and Big Big Wolf 5 on January 25th, 2013.

Anson didn't do any production for this song except to sing! Notice how Anson sounds really cute in this song. He originally tried to sing it with his R&B styled technique, but the director wanted it to be cutsy! Sorry for the late update, I rather provide a full on update than a really lousy one! Enjoy!

March 18th, 2013 - Anson Hu | Tiger Hu | Hu Yanbin is the producer for Tudou Groovin' theme song "Young For You" sang by 馬丁Cityzen and 小老虎 Little Tiger. The lead singer 馬丁Cityzen invited Anson to help him produce the song.


In other words, Anson put this whole song together! This is perhaps the first time I've seen a producer being featured this much in an MV, so cool! What do you think of Anson's cute haircut and round glasses?

February 14th, 2013 - Anson Hu | Tiger Hu | Hu Yanbin is featured in Gillian Chung 鐘欣桐's new single 《在一起 (合唱版) | zài yī qǐ | Be Together (Duet Version)》 released by Emperor Entertainment Group (EEG). This duet version makes a perfect couple song, and especially for Valentines day.

Since this single was released under EEG and under Gillian's name, Anson isn't as prominent as we wanted him to be! I actually like the new arrangement and new instruments of the song, but I thought the singing was rather unfulfilling. I won't make any comments about Gillian's singing, but if you haven't checked out Anson's solo version, you should! here

This MV is a very typical one. I almost imaged this MV to turn out like that! The only that really surprised me are the effects and Anson's facial expressions. His expression show that he now has so much confidence and it's also mesmerizing! Perhaps Anson can work on not using the same movements over and over again? Also, what's with the random girl there? O_O

Music Video: Popularity arises for Anson Hu's Chinese-styled song "Moonlight" after Qin's Moon Season 4 airs

October 9th, 2012 - < 月光 | yuè guāng (Moonlight) > is wuxia genra, Chinese-traditional style fused R&B song composed and sang by Anson Hu especially for China's 3D animated series in wuxia genra [ 秦時明月 Qin's Moon ] as a theme song in early 2007. Recently, popularity for the song arose again due to airing of a new season for Qin's Moon: Season 4. As of today, the song jumped up the charts. It now has a place within TOP500 of all songs within Baidu Music, and it continues to climb!













For this popular 3D animated series in China, Anson also directed and produced most of the soundtrack for the series. In 2008, 2010, and 2011, < Moonlight > was nominated/won awards for the best original animated series theme song. Credit: Qinsmoon.com

Why was Anson chosen as musical producer for the series?

Originally, the director wanted to use Anson's popular Chinese-styled song <  紅顏 | hóng yán | Beautiful Women > for this 3D animated series, and he even did a video demo with the song in it, but Anson offered to compose a song that will surpass his previous Chinese-styled compositions. After listening to Anson's demo version of < Moonlight >, the director was impressed with Anson's ability and invited him to compose music for the entire series.

How did Anson come with "Moonlight?"

At first, Anson didn't know how to go about producing a theme song for China's first 3D animated series. He was challenged and stumped after the director give him a lot of unexpected pressure. The music samples for the soundtrack were all very elegant, grande, and it utilized many Chinese classic instruments--exactly like what a big film would use. It all seemed really challenging to him at that point in time since he wanted to match the series expectation: a classical Chinese story told with new animation technology.

Anson's inspiration for the song finally came about when he learned about the story line, watched some short clips of the series, and drew in his own ideas about the mighty grand Qin Dynasty. Inspiration for the theme song name < Moonlight > came about when he thought about Qin Dynasty: the moonlight represents unlimited ideas and gives the audience room for imagination. As a result, the style of the song is a fuse of classical Chinese grande-elegance with modern R&B beats.

Not many people are aware of this song by Anson because it was included in in his best collection albums only: < 男人歌 (全勝鉑金版) The Men's Songs Platinum Edition > and < 音樂斌潮 Music Of Anson Hu >. It hasn't received the attention it should get, so I hope to introduce this song to you! Personally, it is one of my favourite songs composed by him. Anson really pushes himself and uses SO MANY Chinese traditional instruments presented with a slow-paced R&B beat. When I first saw the introduction, I was wondering if it was even possible. After I heard the composition and arrangement of the song, I was completely blown away. :O That's why I dedicated this entire post to one song!
